Inspirations

Nature is a pivotal influence in my life and is reflected in all of my quilts. My botanical patterns reflect my love of gardening. I often stylize to capture movement or a particular mood or theme. Besides traditional appliquéd flowers, I have adapted many designs to reflect the elegance of Art Nouveau and the simplicity of the Craftsman Era.

I also design children's quilts that splash with whimsy. Elephants in a sand box, a giraffe with a parrot on his back or pigs in mud make me smile.

Dimension has been a focus of my designs. All of my patterns can be appliquéd or bonded with fusible webbing. For realism and dimension I often machine tack double-sided bonded shapes, leave bias tubing free and partially appliquéd leaves and petals.
